Lincoln Hills Cares interns prepare the Farm at Smiley for planting.
During the summer of 2021 high school and college students worked in the gardens at Manual HS, Smith ES, Maxwell ES and the farm at McAuliffe to get the land ready for planting and improve the sites. They worked tirelessly to clear weeds, plant garden seedlings and replace old landscape timbers with wall block. LHC also worked alongside Denver Parks and Rec to improve City Park and more. Without their help, the gardens and farm would not have been able to grow as much produce as they did. Food produced at McAuliffe went to farm boxes Focus Points Family Resource Center and to Bienvenidos Food Bank. Thank you Lincoln Hills Cares!
