The Sustainability Team is thrilled to release its 2024-25 Climate Action & Accountability Report. The report is also available in Spanish.
The report tells the story of progress toward DPS’ 2028 climate action goals, provides data to drive decision-making, and celebrates our shared commitment for a better today and tomorrow for our students. It highlights how DPS has become a national leader in climate action and offers ways for students, staff, and families to get involved in building a more sustainable future.
Thank you to all the collaborators and student advocates who make this work possible. It will take the collective effort, passion, and dedication of many minds and voices to accomplish the goals in the DPS Climate Action Plan.
Highlights from the year include:
- We built 11 solar outdoor classrooms and one solar carport, increasing shade cover and reducing energy costs.
- We reduced energy consumption by 10% from the 2021 baseline, saving on energy costs.
- Students grew fresh produce at 88 active school gardens.
- 14 schools achieved EcoSchools certification from the National Wildlife Federation.
- 171 students from 12 high schools received the Seal of Climate Literacy diploma endorsement.
- The Climate Champions grant program funded 17 student-led projects.
- And so much more!
Together, we are building a cleaner, safer, and more hopeful world for DPS students.
