DPS’ new Responsive Arts and Steam Academy will have all-electric heating and kitchen equipment! This is a big win for sustainability, because electricity can be provided by renewable sources whereas natural gas cannot.
And in Colorado, electricity is increasingly provided by renewable energy sources such as solar and wind. In 2022, Xcel Energy’s Certified Renewable Percentage for electricity in Colorado was 42%, and Xcel plans to increase that to 60% by 2028.
Electricity from renewable sources has significantly lower greenhouse gas emissions than natural gas.
