DPS Energy Challenge

DPS Energy Challenge:

The DPS Sustainability Team is excited to announce the LAUNCH of the 2012-2013 DPS ENERGY CHALLENGE: ELEMENTARY EDITION!

We’re looking for 10 enthusiastic elementary school teams to compete. The Challenge is an opportunity to green your school and community, learn about energy and water savings and earn money! Elementary school student groups, green teams and other interested DPS students, parents and teachers are invited to participate. The team who completes the Energy Challenge Game Board first wins an extra $1,000!

Important Dates:

Launch: August 27th, 2012

Apply by: September 19th, 2012

Schools accepted: September 24th, 2012

Teams conduct audit with US Green Buildings Council: September 28th, 2012

Last day of DPS Energy Challenge: April 30th, 2013

DPS Energy Challenge Celebration: TBD

Check out last year's high school Challenge.

It was the first ever DPS Energy Challenge and a huge success!!

DPS Sustainability Office, in partnership with The City and County of Denver's and Xcel Energy, hosted a district-wide energy competition. Eight DPS high schools competed, all with the goal to complete the most sustainable actions in one school year while earning money. In total, the teams earned over $19,000!
